Opportunities for a Lifetime - Planning for an Increasing Senior Population
Register now for Cobb County Development Symposium Nov. 7
Population growth by seniors is expected to boom over the next two decades. Experts predict the senior population in metro Atlanta will increase by a remarkable 127 percent by 2030. Along with this anticipated growth comes the need to properly plan for the future. In order for the planning process to be truly successful, the community must be informed and involved. Therefore, Cobb County will host a development symposium titled "Opportunities for a Lifetime: Planning for an increasing senior population" Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Kennesaw State University Center. Residents are encouraged to attend the symposium because it will inform them of the unique opportunities and challenges of this growth and cover important topics such as innovative transportation and housing options and community partnerships that benefit seniors.
The symposium runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and registration includes continental breakfast, lunch, vendor exhibits and admission to all sessions. Senior registration, for ages 65 and older, is $35 and regular registration is $40. Registration must be postmarked, faxed or completed online by Oct. 27.
