123 Luckie Street Condos
123 Luckie Street Condos, Condominiums and Flats
123 Luckie Street Condominiums happen to be one of my favorite communities. Hip, cool and reasonably priced. I have seen some unit listed as low as $190k and considering it was built in 2000, it is a relatively new community. The downtown area has been growing and this community is primed to take full advantage of this growth.
The following information 123 Luckie Street condos has been pulled from their site and a link to their site is at the bottom of the page. I highly suggest visiting this community in person if you are looking for a downtown Atlanta condo.
123 Luckie Street Condominiums
123 Luckie Street Condos has a history of refinement and excitement.
Named after a Solomon "Sam" Luckie, an African-American barber killed in a bombing of Atlanta during the Civil War, Luckie Street was the site of the palatial Piedmont Hotel, whose opening in 1903 was celebrated by beautiful women and handsome men crowding its lobbies and hallways.
Decades later, Luckie Street became a business and entertainment focal point, host to a bevy of the best restaurants, theater and nightlife available in the city. It was home to the venerated Herren's Restaurant, Emiles and the Playboy Club.
Today, this tree-lined boulevard between Centennial Olympic Park and Woodruff Park is still hot and happening, with Georgia State University buildings, the Rialto Center for the Performing Arts, the Balzer Theater at Herren's, and the Tabernacle, plus many more entertainment, dining and shopping venues nearby.
The Georgia Dome, Philips Arena, CNN Center, Georgia World Congress Center, Peachtree Center, AmericasMart, and many other major city venues are within walking distance. The Georgia Aquarium, new World of Coke and Imagine It! Children's Museum are also just around the corner. 123 Luckie Street is only two blocks from the Peachtree Center MARTA station.
Luckie Street Condos falls within the Fairlie-Poplar Historic District. According to the text of the National Register nomination for the Fairlie-Poplar District, the area contains the "largest and most concentrated intact portion of Atlanta's late nineteenth and early twentieth central business district."
In the late 1990s, Luckie Street got a new look, with a streetscape project that renovated sidewalks, brought new light posts with decorative banners, and a series of mosaic tile works. The mosaics were created by local artists Tom Haney and Paula Joerling, working with local schoolchildren.
Construction on 123 Luckie Street was completed in 2000 and residents began moving in June of that year.
Like most Downtown residents, 123 Luckie Street condo residents have come to the neighborhood to enjoy the excitement and convenience. There are young couples, "empty nesters" with grown up children, people moving in from the suburbs, single professionals, and even students.
For a few pioneers, Downtown has been home for a long time, as people took advantage of spaces nobody seemed to want, like warehouses and office buildings. For many, Downtown became home during and after the Olympics, when the flame truly began to be kindled. Suddenly Downtown saw more and more people moving in and beginning to live the sort of urban lifestyle found in other cities across the country and around the world. In the years since then, more and more people have been drawn in, with Downtown no longer a place nobody wants, but home to a community of residents.
Downtown residents walk to work while others sit in traffic; they enjoy incredible views of skylines and parks while others view sprawling parking lots of discount malls. Downtown residents even get world-class entertainment and sporting events delivered to their front yard versus ordering pay per view.
Downtown is a place where your car can often stay in the garage. You can walk around the neighborhood and take care of your errands or find a place to have a drink. MARTA is there to take you virtually any point in the city, with several train stations, including Five Points, serving the neighborhood, and dozens of buses running in all directions. And if you do need to drive somewhere in town, Downtown is never very far from anything.
123 Luckie condos is managed by Piedmont Management Associates, a condominium management company. Piedmont Management Associate heads up the day-to-day operation of the building and is responsible for arranging building maintenance, and collecting condo fees. The manager for the building is Mark Watkins, 404-872-8468 ext. 118 or email.
